Lacking nothing, expressing everything.

Hello,

it is interesting to see how this novice priest keeps returning to the same sources for inspiration, no matter how far down the rabbit hole he has gone either through Zazen and/or other kinds of dharma study and practise. Every time there appears the danger of getting lost, he can be sure that the Shinjinmei will pick him up again and put everything in perspective - leading him back to his basic nature. Interestingly he does not care too much for most translations he has come across over the years, the one that really grabs him by the "cojones" is the one by Richard Clarke, which can be found towards the bottom of the following page:

Deep bows to Richard for creating a text that expounds the marrow of the matter of Zen in such a concise yet complete way. Whether it is close to the word of the original is only of academic interest, since the truthfulness of the text is self-revealing for those with eyes to see.

There is nothing lacking. Nothing.

Gassho,
